Ashana Sophia Morrow
Ashana Morrow grew up on a biodynamic farm in Massachusetts, gaining familiarity with the many uses and qualities of plants and flowers from a young age. She made rosewater from her father’s Rose bushes and hung herbs and flowers to dry above her bed to inspire sweet thoughts and dreams. She understood the world through scents and sounds. This sensual memory developed into a finely tuned nose for scents.
As Ashana pursued studies in botany and music, these two arts wove into an integrated expression of beauty and healing. Her studies at Avena Botanicals in Maine, where they sang in the gardens, further grounded this exploration of song and scent. Ashana’s life and travels are an ongoing study in these complementary arts. Her fondest memories of traveling are a symphony in flowers: champa and jasmine for her hair in India, nights with ylang ylang in Bali, hiking in the pine forests of Norway, and eucalyptus, cedar and cinnamon trees in Maui.
Ryan grew up in Louisiana’s deep South, constantly in contact with the succulent natural world of that region. His family and a keen sensitivity bestowed his fundamental relationship to the earth. A shift in his early adult life created a deeper understanding of the intrinsic connection between nature and humans.
Ryan’s curiosity and connection to spirit led him to Eastern philosophy, meditation, and the practices of yoga and massage. In this work he began to learn about the uses and healing properties of essential oils. Since then Ryan has become intimate with the wealth of oils and essences, a space he shares with his love and business partner Ashana. Together, they have explored the body, mind and spirit as a conduit for the amazing energy and influences extracted from plants.
Ryan honors the oils as incredible friends and allies who are capable of providing immediate and tangible support on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual planes. By living with, breathing, drinking, massaging, and regularly interacting with fragrant oils, he knows their healing power. Ryan is excited to share these gifts through the products of Agua de Flora Botanical Perfumery. These incomparable scents have been a key component of Ryan’s personal development, serving him in his meditation and healing therapies, his health and marriage, and the awakening of spiritual consciousness.
